We’re a family of four, and as foster carers we know exactly what makes a holiday with a baby or toddler easy and safe. So we’ve equipped Spring Gardens, our self-catering home in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, with the cot, high chair, pushchair, stair gates and dozens of other things that normally fill the boot of the car. Leave them at home — they’re already here.

What we provide for little ones

No need to fill the car — it’s all included in the price. If they're happy, you'll be too!

For Babies

A good-condition Oyster 2 pushchair, hip seat, baby carrier, highchair, microwave bottle steriliser, sippy cups, weaning spoons, baby bath, top-and-tail bowl, changing mat, video baby monitor with 2 cameras, and a travel cot.

For Toddlers & Young Children

Stair gates, booster seats, a toddler bed, bed guard for a standard bed, toddler steps by the wash-basins, toddler plates, bowls, cups and cutlery, a box of toys.

For Older Children

A box of toys, children’s books, board games, cards and jigsaws, a Wii games console with classic games such as Mario Kart, and DVDs for all ages to use on the lounge and dining-room TVs.

Beach

Buckets and spades, a small beach tent and beach towels for everyone. The beach is just a few minutes’ walk from the property and has public toilets, showers, cafes, an ice-cream parlour, fish & chips, an arcade, crazy golf, and 2 pubs serving good food.

Safety, by Foster Carers

Stair gates top and bottom (and to the kitchen), radio-linked smoke alarms, a first aid kit, fire extinguisher and blanket, emergency lighting, fire doors, blind-cord safety hooks and non-slip stair treads.

Incredibly well kitted out — especially when it comes to kids, it's the best holiday let we've stayed in. When we wanted a bed guard to stop our 3-year-old falling out of bed, everything we needed was in an obvious place.
