As a family with 4 children, we've spent many holidays on the lovely Isle of Wight and we're happy to now be able to offer this home to other holidaymakers.
We're also foster carers and know what is needed to create an easy, safe, family holiday, with baby equipment, some toys, books, games and a console all there to use.
Shanklin is a superb base for a holiday. On the esplanade by the sandy beach you can find crazy golf, an arcade, fish & chips, ice cream, cafes and pubs/restaurants. There's the picture-perfect old village, and a high street with all the shops and restaurants you'll need. There are innumerable attractions and countryside or coastal walks right on the doorstep.
Spring Gardens is a lovely house on a quiet street close to Shanklin town centre and transport links. The house is lovely, spacious, warm, exceptionally well equipped. The beds are so comfortable. Jo is such a kind and friendly host. We can't wait to return. Highly recommended. Thank you.
Central location, great house, we were wanting for nothing. Parking a bit of an issue, but always managed to park in nearby streets.
We had a lovely stay at Spring Gardens, 5 min walk to the high street and 15 min walk to the beach. The house was comfortable with all the essentials. Perfect family house.
Travelled with 6 adults and 2 kids who were never bored. This property is well thought of catering any travelling family with little ones. It is truly a home away from home with toys for babies, Wii, books etc. Host was brilliant in providing information. We will definitely be back again.

The bathroom (with toilet) is upstairs in a sunny room. There's kid's Sanex Zero bubble-bath provided (fragrance free), adult coconut bubble-bath, and mineral bath salts.
The shower room (with toilet) is at street level. There is a body wash dispenser in the shower.
The dining room is on the lower ground floor and has a table which extends to seat 8 people. We have a high chair and two booster seats available as well. There's also a smart TV on the wall with DVD player.
The sun streams in from the secluded patio, where you can find another table and chairs.

The kitchen is on the lower ground floor. It has a large fridge-freezer, gas hob/oven, microwave, washing machine, coffee maker, kettle and toaster.
There's a bean-to-cup coffee machine here, and a gate from the dining room to keep the little ones safe.
The kitchen has direct access to the patio so it is very easy to eat outside.
We have (removable) stair gates at the top and bottom. The stairs to the lower ground floor have a gate and there's a gate to protect the kitchen.

As we stay here ourselves, we've made sure that the house is well equipped, particularly for children, but also for home working and adult relaxation. See everything we provide for babies and toddlers.
Included: good condition Oyster 2 pushchair, microwave bottle steriliser, high chair, stair gates, baby bath, top and tail bath, changing mat, travel cot, video monitors, sippy cups, weaning spoons, hip seat, and baby carrier.

The lounge and dining room have TVs with DVD players and all streaming services (bring your own login), plus a TV in one of the double rooms. There's a games console plus games in the lounge along with a selection of DVDs for all ages, books and games.
The house is wonderfully quiet at night with no traffic noise. There are 6 beds, many with good new mattresses, in 4 bedrooms: (1) king-size bed; (2) king-size bed; (3) bunk beds plus a single bed; (4) single bed.
We also have a toddler bed and travel cot that may be used on request.
High quality bed linen, bath towels, beach towels, hand and tea-towels are included.
There is a bathroom and shower room, both with toilets. Environmentally friendly shower gel, bubble bath, washing-up liquid, washing liquid (all in refilled bottles) and dishwasher tablets are provided.
We try to make the house allergen-free so unfortunately no pets are allowed.
The kitchen has a tall fridge/freezer, gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, bean-to-cup coffee machine and of course all the crockery and utensils you might want.
The sunny dining room can seat up to 8 people (plus high chair) with a TV on the wall to entertain the kids while you cook. Alternatively, you can eat out on the patio just outside the kitchen door: it's quite a sun-trap and is not overlooked.
The house is connected via super-fast fibre-optic broadband with a good Wi-Fi signal throughout. Mobile phone reception is also fine.
If you need to keep some work ticking over while you're away, you can plug your laptop into the dual-monitors, keyboard, mouse, camera and speaker provided via the USB docking station and make use of the super-fast Wi-Fi for any video conferences.
As foster carers we know all about safety! We have radio-linked smoke alarms, stair gates, first aid kit, fire extinguisher/blanket, emergency lighting, fire-doors, electrical and gas safety checks, and blind cord safety hooks.
The stairs down to the kitchen are steep but we have two solid handrails and non-slip treads.
The house is in a great location: on a quiet street, but minutes away from the shops, beach, bus and train stations. You can purchase train tickets from mainland stations to Shanklin with the crossing from Portsmouth to Ryde included — in fact, you can enjoy a whole holiday here without a car. Parking is free and on-street, but you may find you have to drive round a few streets to find a spot.
